There is rarely such a thing as an ordinary day at PSM Locksmiths. One job might involve gaining entry to a beautiful Aston Martin Vantage with its keys locked safely inside, while the next could see us programming a new key for one of the latest vehicles on the road.
Two of our recent jobs were particularly good examples of just how varied the work of a modern auto locksmith can be.
One of the more eye catching vehicles we have worked on recently was a beautiful Aston Martin Vantage at Felixstowe docks.
Unfortunately for its owner, the keys were locked inside the car. Modern vehicles are designed to be difficult to get into without the correct key, and with a car such as an Aston Martin, the last thing anybody wants is unnecessary damage caused while trying to gain entry.
We were able to open the vehicle and recover access to the keys without damaging the car. Vehicle lockouts are one of the services we provide throughout Ipswich and the surrounding areas. Car keys have changed enormously over the years. What was once essentially a piece of cut metal is now a sophisticated electronic device communicating directly with the vehicle’s security systems.
As new manufacturers and models arrive on UK roads, we continually expand the vehicles and key systems we are able to work with. Brandon supplied and programmed a spare key for the Jaecoo, giving the owner the reassurance of having a second working key rather than relying on just one.
It is always worth arranging a spare while you still have a working key. Losing your only key can turn a relatively straightforward job into a much bigger inconvenience and, depending on the vehicle, a more expensive one too.
These two jobs couldn’t have been much more different, but they demonstrate the range of work we carry out at PSM Locksmiths.
