May has been another busy month, with a real mix of work both at the shop and out on the road around Ipswich and the surrounding areas. From spare keys for peace of mind to urgent lost key situations, it has been a bit of everything.

There have been a number of jobs where I have been called in to put things right after other companies. In one case, a customer had been left with a key that did not even turn the ignition or fit the door lock, despite being charged for the work. I was able to cut and programme a correct key so the vehicle was fully usable again. It is something I see more often than I would like, and it highlights the importance of using a properly trained and vetted auto locksmith.

At the shop, I have completed a wide range of spare and replacement keys for different vehicles. These included a Jeep Renegade, Volvo, Peugeot, Ford EcoSport and a 2024 Vauxhall, along with multiple genuine remotes for a Ford Transit. Supplying genuine or high quality keys and coding them correctly gives customers confidence that everything will work exactly as it should.

It is not always modern vehicles either. I had the pleasure of helping the owner of a 1979 VW who had accidentally locked the keys inside. Jobs like that are always enjoyable, especially when they can be completed cleanly without any damage to a classic vehicle.

Out on the road, I also attended a Mercedes situation in Aldeburgh where the only key had been lost while the owner was away from home. These are the types of calls that really reinforce the value of having a spare key. It is something I always recommend, especially for those who rely on their vehicle daily or travel further afield.

Overall, May has been a solid month of helping customers get back on the road quickly, supplying spare keys for peace of mind and fixing problems where things have not been done properly elsewhere.
